The Power of One

I really enjoyed watching “The Power of One.” It taught me many life lessons that everyone should live by.  It taught me that I should stand up for what I think is right and not to take no for an answer.  P.K. saw that the natives were being mistreated and wanted to help.  He went against his schoolmates, the government, and government officials.
P.K. became friends with the natives through boxing and didn’t care if he wasn’t “allowed” to see them.  He did what he thought was right.  P.K. had a lot of courage and bravery.  I liked how P.K. didn’t look down on the natives.  He interacted and became friends with the natives without thinking he was better than them.  P.K. was one of the only human beings in South Africa to accept the natives as people.  The whites in South Africa just looked at them as animals or things.  P.K. showed us how all people should treat and respect others.
I love the moment when P.K. and Doc put together the concert at the jail.  It gave the people at the jail a chance to unite and sing songs together that they were not allowed to sing together in a long time.  It gave the jail a new life.  Doc and P.K. showed a lot of courage by lying to the officials to help the natives have a good time and give them an opportunity to do a special thing.  People should learn from P.K.’s actions and apply them to their own life.

  1. I agree with you that P.K. had a lot of bravery and courage due to what he stood up for and this was a well written response with good connections to the movie.
