Single Story (I know its late)

This is late but, “The Single Story”

4. The media is a huge impact on Single stories, they do it all the time! Media lies about so much and half of the people don’t take time to actually read in on it so what they hear first is what they expect. Ebola is a huge story right now or it was… the media basically said all of Africa had it when it was a minimum of three countries, not the whole continent.

5. I've fallen to a “single story” many times, we create so many stereotypes about different races and religions and lots of other things. When I went to Canada I thought everyone was going to be nice, first time I went was I stayed in a hotel and I could hear two Canadian people yelling at each other. I automatically thought of this stereotype and found out it wasn't true.

6. The dangers of falling into a “Single story” can be many things you cannot meet people and sometimes you’re scared of them. This is really bad because people of different religions date and get married all the time. We really need to change this but it is so big in every country that it will probably never be abolished.

“The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete”

This made me really think. Some people in our country automatically think Arabs are terrorists or somehow connected with them, this is probably the worst stereotype. Arabs are from these countries that most of these things happen but the U.S. is just as bad, we just don’t think of it that way. People threat us we get them back.. That’s the whole ISIS situation, yes it’s for our safety but were bombing them, we are killing them and probably random civilians with those bombs that have family’s and feeling and that have probably not have done anything. Our world isn't fair to anyone.
