Speech Reflection
I thought
my speech went pretty good. There are
definitely places that I wish I had done better at. I felt prepared going in but right as I started
I got really nervous and I forgot what to say.
I started saying um and ah al lot but after taking a deep breath I started
to become more comfortable. I was more
nervous delivering it because I felt prepared but after messing up at the
beginning the nerves really started to kick in.
My nerves did relax as I proceeded through my presentation especially because
I ended with personal information. I was
more comfortable talking about the personal part of it because I knew what I
was talking about and I even added in things that I didn’t even have on my
notecard because I was comfortable with what I wanted to say. I think my strengths were that I had personal
information so I felt I was fluent and comfortable as I went through my
speech. I felt that throughout my speech
that I didn’t make good eye contact and a few times I caught my fidgeting and
playing with my notecard. If I was doing
it again I would defiantly try to make good eye contact and try not to be as
nervous so I wouldn’t freeze up at the beginning again like I did.
I think
Dane and Amber did the best in are class.
They both looked really comfortable and knew what they were talking
about. I also found it amazing how they didn’t
use the podium but they managed themselves really well. They didn’t move around a lot or do anything
distracting. They moved around enough to
look comfortable and engage the audience but they didn’t move around too much to
be distracting. They also didn’t stand still and make the audience get bored or
not pay attention. They both used loud
voices and both used a tone of voice to make the audience stay engaged in what
they were saying throughout the speech.
They both had serious times and other times that were kind of laid back
but both times they used their movements and voice to back up what they were
saying. Overall they were both really
good!
