The dangers of a single-story perspective is that people are so vulnerable to only believe what they hear or see whether it's true or not, because of this people often see a county, a group of people, or even a whole continent like Africa, as one thing, or a single story. In most case scenarios it’ a bad single-story. Most people's single story of Africa, is catastrophe, like she said in her speech. Because of what people have herd, in the news or some place else, that's mostly the only information they get on Africa. That is the danger of a single-story.
I think that the media plays a part in promoting the single-story because media tends to only show bad things about something. Take the news for instance, most of the time the stories you hear are stories that will catch your attention. People only hearing bad things or the same things over and over again create a single-story
We can help to reduce harmful stereotypes by not making judgments and opinions so quickly. Finding out more about something about labeling it with a single-story
“The single story create stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue but that they are incomplete. they make one story become the only story.”
Chimamanda Adichie
I really agree with the statement that Chimamanda Adichie said, it explains the single-story of Mexico. The story of drug cartels and illegal imigrants but there inch more to Mexico than the bad things that people focus on. I think that it's great that she has realized all of these single-story stereotypes, and that now she is helping other people realize them too. The only question I had about this statement was who she was specifying when she said “They make one story become the only story.” I think that what Chimamanda is doing with her life is really important and can help everyone in future.

I think we all have fallen victim to the single story because it may be implimented when we are young.
