Am I the only one who didn't like this movie? I felt that all the death scenes were forced and the dialogue was rough and sometimes boring. I'll admit that I liked some parts, the boxing scenes, the "doomed romance" and the conflicts, but it all seemed like the director took an energized script but then set off to bore us with it.
Yes, there were some top-notch actors like Daniel Craig and Morgan Freeman but they weren't enough to carry the rest of the movie. I liked how calm Gideon's wife was as she said, "I have to get the children away, go get PK." I mean, he's only been shot and the place you call home isn't burning or anything. It's all good.
One thing I actually did like was the director's attempt at irony in Marias' death. I like the theme that her dad essentially killed her but as I stated before it seemed really forced. I also didn't like the theme, (as Mr. Fielder said) that PK and white people always had to solve the problems. I wish that while there were those strange gaps while PK grew they had developed more back story and filled more holes.
But don't get me wrong, I think this movie has great potential and it would be so much better if not told from such a biased political sense. I would give this movie a 6 out of 10.
the movie was kinda stupid though.
